New Player Guide
The basics to get moving in Roanja City.
Core loop
A simple path from zero to dangerous.
1) Earn
Jobs are your main early-game engine.
- Work uses Energy.
- Crime uses Nerve (higher risk, higher swings).
- Training can increase your stats on success (STR/DEF/SPD/DEX/ACC).
- Faction Ops require a faction (often 2+ / 3+ members).
- Use the Job Detail page for Plan → Execute and Work x5.
2) Gear up
Gear makes fights and jobs more consistent.
- Buy baseline gear in Market → System Store (weapons/armor/medical).
- Optional Premium refill packs (Energy/Nerve) on the Market use Square Checkout at £0.99 each when enabled; credit is applied after Square confirms payment via webhook.
- Or buy from other players on the Market.
- Equip 1 Weapon + 1 Armor in Inventory.
3) Fight
PvP is reputation + XP, but costs resources.
- Attacking costs 25 Energy.
- After you attack, you have a short Attack Cooldown before you can attack again.
- If a player hits 0 HP, they’re hospitalized.
- Battle reports show every turn.
4) Social
Factions help you scale.
- Join a faction for +5% XP from jobs.
- Create a faction from the Factions page if you’re not in one.
- Leaders can invite from player profiles.
- Friends & Block list: add friends from player profiles, and use Friends in the navbar to manage requests. Blocking hides someone from Global Chat.
- Faction Wars: leaders/co-leaders can declare war. Enemy attacks only count during an active war.
- Captains & Lieutenants: optional officer titles on the roster (see New systems).
- Faction News logs joins/donations/kicks.
New systems
Bank
Manage cash safely and move money between players.
- Deposit/Withdraw: move money between Cash and Bank.
- Transfer: sends money from your bank to another player’s bank.
- Daily interest: bank balance grows a little each day (applies when you play).
Trades
Trade items + cash securely with a lock/confirm flow.
- Start a trade by username.
- Set cash + add items to your offer.
- Lock your offer when ready.
- When both are locked, either player can Confirm.
- Anti-abuse: trades may be restricted for very new accounts or same-IP accounts.
Alt / abuse controls (week-1 safe)
Lightweight protections to reduce obvious alt abuse while the game is new.
- New account limits: very new accounts may be blocked from trading, placing bounties, or attacking.
- Same-IP soft blocks: some actions may be blocked between accounts sharing the same IP.
- Staff restrictions: staff can temporarily lock trades/bounties/combat on specific accounts if needed.
Stats & Training
Training jobs can improve your combat/job stats over time.
- Stats: STR, DEF, SPD, DEX, ACC.
- Training has soft caps and diminishing returns as you get stronger.
Perks, Achievements & Titles
Progression milestones that make your path feel different.
- Perks unlock automatically as you level up (path-based bonuses).
- Achievements award small rewards (reputation) and can grant a Title.
- Your Title shows on your profile.
Wanted / Heat
Crime and violence attracts attention.
- Heat goes up when you do Crime jobs and when you attack players.
- Higher Heat can trigger police events during crimes, which can send you to Jail.
- Heat decays slowly over time while you play.
Combat consumables
One-time items you can use from Inventory.
- Medkit: restores some Health, but adds extra attack cooldown.
- Smoke Bomb: gives a chance to avoid the next incoming attack for a short time.
- Adrenaline Shot: restores Energy, but increases your Heat (more risk on crimes/smuggling).
- Body Armor Plate: grants a temporary Defense boost for a short time.
- Lockpick Set: boosts your next Nerve job success chance, then the effect is consumed.
- Combat consumables share a short item cooldown (so they can’t be spammed).
Faction Warfare (expanded)
Wars now have resolution, rewards, and weekly seasons.
- War end resolution: wars auto-end at their end time and declare a winner by score.
- War rewards: winning factions get a bank bonus, a 24h buff, and unlock a banner.
- Weekly season leaderboard: wins/losses/points are tracked each week and the champion enters the Hall of Fame.
Faction Chat
Private chat for your faction.
- Available at the bottom of your Faction Dashboard.
- Only faction members can read/send messages.
Faction officers (Captains & Lieutenants)
Leadership can hand out officer titles for structure and recognition.
- Only the Leader or a Co-Leader can change someone’s rank between Member, Lieutenant, and Captain (from the rank dropdown on each row of the member list on the Faction Dashboard).
- The roster sorts by rank: Leader → Co-Leader → Captain → Lieutenant → Member.
- Officer ranks are titles only in game terms: declaring war, handling invites, kicking members, and other management actions still require Leader or Co-Leader.
- Changes are logged in Faction News.
Notifications
Important updates without spam.
- Examples: you were attacked, item sold, war point, invite received.
- Check the Notifications panel on your Dashboard or the Notifications page.
Bounties / Hit List
Put a price on a rival — and get paid for sending them to hospital.
- Open the Hit List from the top navigation to see players with open bounties.
- From a player profile, you can place a cash bounty (it’s deducted from your cash immediately).
- If you hospitalize a target in PvP, you claim the open bounty pool (anti-abuse rules apply).
- Anti-abuse: bounty claims are blocked for same-IP and same-faction situations, and there’s a cooldown on repeatedly claiming the same target.
Smuggling runs (risk vs reward)
A multi-step crime with a route choice that’s affected by Heat and perks.
- Open Smuggling from the top navigation (or from the Jobs page).
- Pick a route: Quiet is safer/steadier; Fast pays more but is riskier.
- Heat matters: higher Heat reduces success chance and increases the chance of getting busted.
- Perks matter: perks that improve job success or margins can improve your odds and payout.
- Runs consume Nerve when executed.
Crafting / Upgrading
Break down items into parts and apply mods to gear (with safe failure).
- Open Crafting from the top navigation.
- Use Salvage in your Inventory to destroy items and gain parts.
- Use Mods on a weapon/armor instance to apply upgrades like Accuracy, Crit, or Defense.
- Failure consumes parts only (your item is not destroyed or downgraded).
- Mods are per-item (they persist on that owned instance and affect combat/jobs).
Player Search
Quickly find players by username.
- Use Player Search to find a user and then Attack, Trade, or Invite.
- Handy when you only know someone’s username.
Badges (Path Champions)
Bragging rights for the best in each path.
- Best Hacker: top Hacker by reputation.
- Best Robber: top Robber by reputation.
- Top Dealer: top Drug Lord by reputation.
- Badges show on the Dashboard and player profiles.
Login Streaks
Tiny bonuses for showing up.
- Your streak increases when you log in on consecutive days.
- Every few days you can earn an Energy Refill Token and unlock cosmetic badges.
Staff Live Events
Server-wide boosts controlled by staff.
- Double XP: boosts job + combat XP.
- Market Tax Holiday: removes market tax on player listings.
- Crime Crackdown: increases police events during crimes.
- You’ll receive a notification when an event starts/ends.
Common “gotchas”
Cooldowns
Some jobs can’t be spammed. Attacks and combat items also have short cooldowns. Mix in training or market actions while you wait.
High Risk
Failing high-risk crime can send you to Jail or Hospital.
System Store unlocks
System Store items unlock by level. If an item shows “Locked”, level up first.
Avatars
Upload an avatar on your Dashboard (PNG/JPG/JPEG/WEBP, max 2MB).
Faction Wars
Cross-faction attacks only count during an active war. Each win is +1 war point.
Tip: Medical items can reduce hospital time, heal, and grant combat effects. Check Inventory → Medical.
Status effects
Jail: you can’t act until the timer ends.
Hospital: you can’t act until the timer ends.
